Surapong Phlaiyowong, head coach of the Thai women’s futsal team, gave an interview after the match against Vietnam in the 2024 AFF Futsal Women’s Championship final.

In the game, Thailand lost to Vietnam 1-2 in extra time.

“I have to apologize to Thai football fans for not being able to bring the championship back to Thailand. I have to congratulate Vietnam. Today, all the kids did a good job. But the moment we should have scored and we didn’t, before we missed in extra time, it was the timing of the ball,” said Coach Thuek.

“When we tried to equalize, we made another mistake. It was a matter of concentration at the end. It was a fun and quality game. Everyone is disappointed that we didn’t win the championship this time.”

The Thai women’s futsal team will return to Thailand immediately and will arrive at 

Suvarnabhumi International Airport on November 22, 2024 at approximately 10:00 p.m.

 The coaching staff will hold a meeting to plan the training camp to prepare for the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Championship Qualifiers between January 11-19, 2025. Thailand is in 

Group A with Lebanon, Bahrain, Palestine and Iraq. The time and venue of the competition will be announced later. ( wintime999 )
