Spurs have been without any trophy since the League Cup in 2008 until now for almost two decades. There have been times when it seems like they have finally unlocked the secret, but they have always withered away, leading to the comparison of those who never step on chicken shit to be called ‘Spurs’, meaning that they never succeed in whatever they do.  ( pgzen )

Being branded like that is not funny for the Dutch players. They said they would turn their anger into ambition and find a way to erase the image of the cursed team. 

“I think we look more dangerous this year,” he told Standard Sport.

The closest Spurs have come to winning the 2021 League Cup , losing 0-1 to Man City in the final, 0-2 to Liverpool in the 2019 Champions League final , or the 2015-16 season, where they edged out Leicester for the English Premier League title , but still failed to do so.
