Masai joined the Raptors as vice president of basketball operations and general manager in 2013, then was promoted to president of basketball operations three years later. 

The 2013 Executive of the Year turned around the franchise from a poor start to the season, and before Ujiri arrived, it had not won a playoff series since 2001.
