Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has revealed the competition for the Steelers’ starting quarterback position in the 2024 season, with Russell Wilson, the 35-year-old, still ahead of junior quarterback Justin Fields, according to a report from NFL Network. ( zbet911 )

‘Nothing has changed,’ Tomlin said of the Wilson-Fields rivalry when asked if the former is still the better player.  ( zbet911s  )

Asked how he allocates his time, Tomlin replied: ‘With great care. Do you think I’m going to push myself into a corner so that they’re going to ask me about my time every day? No way. I’ve worked too long for that.’

Tomlin, 52, is entering his 18th season and there’s nothing new about this job for him. Competition at quarterback is nothing new to management either. 

For now, Wilson remains the clear favorite over Fields for the starting quarterback job, with the 35-year-old’s work ethic matching Tomlin’s.

‘There are a lot of interesting things about him in terms of his enthusiasm for his work, which is very appealing,’ Tomlin said.
