Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres and Pedro Gonzalez Lopez Pedri, the three players from the Spanish national team that won Euro 2024, have returned to Barcelona to report for medicals and training ahead of the new season, Diario Sport reported on Monday.

17-year-old forward Yamal played a key role in Spain’s European Championship success in Germany, while Ferran came on as a substitute and Pedri injured his left knee during the quarter-final against Germany after being fouled by Toni Kroos early on.

The club had initially given the trio a holiday until August 12, but they decided to return early to prepare for the new season, with both Yamal and Ferran expected to feature in the Trofeo Joan Gamper friendly against Monaco on August 12. 

Pedri, meanwhile, is recovering from a sprained left knee and it is unclear whether the 21-year-old midfielder will be available for the trip to Valencia in the 2024-25 season opener. ( wintime999 )
