According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Liverpool are hoping to sign Chiesa before the transfer window closes this week.

The former Fiorentina winger is ready to move for a fee as low as €15m as his contract expires at the end of June next year.

He has been told he will not be part of new manager Thiago Motta’s plans for the season and has currently been training away from the first-team squad.

Barcelona have reportedly shown interest in him in recent days, with German coach Hansi Flick already speaking to the player about a possible move to Camp Nou.

So far, neither Barcelona nor Liverpool have made a formal bid for Chiesa, with Barca needing to take a pay cut before such a move is possible, meaning the Reds could have an advantage in talks with Juventus. ( vox888 )
