Spurs just lost in the London derby match to Chelsea 0-1 yesterday, making it difficult for them to hope for a Champions League quota next season through the English Premier League rankings because they are 17 points behind the last five quotas. 

The pressure on the 59-year-old coach because of his confrontation with the fans is a negative sign for the position.

So the former captain of the ‘Golden Spurs’ urged Postecoglou to win the Europa League title to help cool down the temperature of the manager’s position. 

“The Europa League quarter-final against Eintracht Frankfurt will decide whether I stay or go – I don’t see the club as completely hopeless because Ange has to prove that he is the man to stay, as we said at the start of the season,” Redknapp said of Tottenham’s current situation.

“He had to go all out in the Europa League and the players seem to be focusing on that now too – although Ange said the team is okay in the league, the players are not showing what they are saying.” 

“Considering that even with all the players back, the results are still as bad as we’ve seen all season.” 

“If the team fails to qualify for next season’s European Championship, I don’t think he will be the head coach anymore. The big picture is that he knows there is a price to pay.” 

“A team like Spurs shouldn’t lose 16 games in a season.”

“He has to win the cup – whether he succeeds or fails, he has now written a new chapter in history in a negative light.”

“That’s why if you fail in the Europa League, don’t stay.”
