Canned quarterback Johnny Manziel has expressed his desire to return to the NFL, announcing he is open to playing for free, which could be a move that some teams will take up. superheng1688

“I would play for free,” Mansell tweeted on Wednesday. “It’s not about the money, it’s about getting back to what I love and miss.”

Under NFL rules, Mansell cannot play for free as advertised, but he can sign a contract with no guaranteed salary.

“A team can say Mansell will get zero dollars guaranteed or a minimum salary if needed,” NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo said of Johnny Mansell’s case. “He’s still eligible to practice. He can sign a practice squad, be with the team in practice and prove he’s ready to play the entire season.”

Mansell, 25, has not played in the NFL since 2015, when he was dropped by the Cleveland Browns after being arrested on domestic violence charges and also having personal issues with alcohol abuse.  ( superheng1688 )
