Serkse has become the latest Dutch player to join Manchester United after joining from Bologna, where he helped the club secure a place in next season’s Champions League. 

Stam, who played for United between 1998 and 2001, said of his compatriot: “He is a young player with a lot of quality that you can see in Serie A.”

“He needs time to adapt to the Premier League, not just the style of play but the pressure and expectations that come from a big club like United. I’ve been there before and I know what it’s like.”

“Also, the language, the country, the club, the culture and the different players is something to get used to. It’s a good move for Joshua, there are a lot of Dutch people there and he has quality too,” the 52-year-old said. ( vox888 )
