Rodri suffered a cruciate ligament tear in his right knee in the 2-2 Premier League draw at Arsenal in September, requiring surgery and ruling him out for the rest of the season.

However, the Spain midfielder, who won the latest Ballon d’Or award, remains optimistic that he will be able to return to help the Citizens at the end of the season. 

“I feel like I’m back this season. Yes, it’s possible and I can make it happen,” Rodri said. 

“I’m recovering now. There’s no pressure. It’s important to recover in the best way possible.”

“But this season is still long, there is a new format of the Club World Cup, I can play.” 

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will be held from June 15 to July 13, with 32 teams competing. ( wilson88 )
