The brilliance shown in front of the Old Trafford fans, the 26-year-old believes, came from good coordination, and he hopes to use this match as a blueprint.

“It’s important to have a push-and-shoot relationship, take turns building, but as a striker, I think the strength of this match was the connection with the midfield. I felt it came out really well,” he told Sky Sports.

“Before we got the first ball, it was a bit difficult to break through, but after the count of 1, we found better spaces, and sometimes our decision-making to score was better.”
