The LA Rams are allowing 24-year-old linebacker Ernest Jones to seek a trade before the 2024 season, according to NFL Network reporter Cameron Wolf.

The former third-round pick in the 2021 draft class is entering the final year of his rookie contract, which has led the Rams to contact the player’s agent to seek a trade partner for the 24-year-old linebacker, although Jones’ departure could hurt head coach Sean McVay’s defense, who had 145 tackles and 4.5 sacks in 2023.

But the Rams still have several options at linebacker in Christian Rozboom, Troy Rieder, Jake Hummel, Olakunli Fatukasi and undrafted rookies Omar Speights and Elias Neal before the 53-man roster is finalized on Tuesday, Aug. 27.  ( wintime999 )
