player1688 Geno Smith apologizes to teammates, organization and city of Seattle after mistakes in Sunday’s loss to the LA Rams

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith has apologized to his teammates, the organization and the city after he threw two interceptions in the final quarter of Sunday’s 20-26 overtime loss to the LA Rams, NFL Network reported.  player1688

“First of all, I want to start by apologizing to my teammates and apologizing to the city and the organization,” Smith said. “They put a lot of trust in me in making decisions, and when they give me the ball, when my teammates play the way they play today, and in order for us to have a chance to win the game, I have to make sure we do that. What I did today, the mistakes I made, those things impacted us negatively and really cost us the game today.”

‘I know myself, I know how much it hurts. I’m going to take another step. That’s how I feel. I’m going to take another step.’

Smith completed 21 of 34 passes for 363 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. Sophomore wide receiver Jackson Smith-Njigba had seven catches for 180 yards and two touchdowns, but the 34-year-old quarterback forced a throw when pressured early in the final quarter, intercepting in the end zone and allowing Rams safety Camren Kinchens to make a 103-yard pick-six and then intercepting Rams safety Jaylen McCollough on the 4-yard line.

“All those situations made me think, ‘We’ve got to get this done. We’ve got to get this done for my people and for this city,'” Smith said. “I felt like I let everybody down today. I really did.”

“He made some good plays for us,” Seahawks coach Mike MacDonald said. “It wasn’t easy. There wasn’t a lot of time left. They had a good rushing scheme. We had to protect him better, and I’m sure he’ll tell you he took responsibility for all three picks. We had to make smarter decisions. We had to finish drives. We had to take care of the ball. You guys saw it, we saw it. We had to play better if we wanted to win.”  ( player1688 )
