Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz is looking at Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson’s transition to a more throwing role than his usual running game ahead of Sunday’s clash between the two teams, NFL Network reports. player1688

The Ravens got off to a rough start after losing their first two games before bouncing back and winning five straight after 30-year-old running back Derrick Henry caught the attention of opposing defenses, giving Jackson more freedom to play and the 27-year-old quarterback also improved his throwing, completing the ball at a career-best 70.4 percent for 1,810 yards, 15 touchdowns and just two interceptions. 

“He went from a run-oriented quarterback to a throw-oriented quarterback who can play with his feet,” Schwartz said of Jackson. “They gave him most of the throwing game, and he can rely on that, but he also has the legs to make powerful plays.”

“When we talk about the next level, it’s like, ‘Okay, we didn’t know there was another level,’ because he plays at a great level and a very high level. He’s got amazing feet, makes amazing plays, extends plays like any great quarterback,” Browns linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Kromohah said of Jackson’s development.  ( player1688 )
