Former NBA player Paul Pierce believes the Golden State Warriors could also improve their chances of winning the NBA title if they trade for Milwaukee Bucks star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo during a conversation on KG Certified with former teammate Kevin Garrett, NBC Sports Bay Area reports. With the departure of Klay Thompson, who signed with the Dallas Mavericks, there has been debate over how much of an NBA title Golden State still has with its two remaining stars in Steph Curry and Draymond Green, but Pierce believes the Warriors would have a better chance if they traded for Antetokounmpo from the Bucks. 

“The only way I see Golden State getting back to where they want to be is to find a way to get Giannis,” Pierce said. 

While Garrett sees the other side of the coin, Curry could leave Golden State and pursue a fifth NBA championship with another team, Pierce insists Steph will remain in the Bay Area.

‘He’s going down with that ship,’ Pierce disputes Garrett’s view. ‘It’s a legacy. Everything now to him is just an add-on.’
