New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones admitted that making all five of his field goals wasn’t enough to win the game after Thursday’s 15-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, NFL Network reported. pgzen

Giants kicker Greg Joseph made consecutive field goals on the first four possessions, but the Giants were unable to score on two red zone attempts and one end zone fumble. 

“It’s very frustrating,” Jones said. “It’s very frustrating. We expect to score touchdowns and score points, and in a game where we feel like we can do a lot of things, move the ball well and do a lot of things well, and we can’t do it in the red zone and score points, that’s frustrating.”

Jones completed 29 of 40 passes for 281 yards, no touchdowns and one interception, while rookie wide receiver Malik Neighbors caught 12 passes for 115 yards and no scores. 

Overall, the Giants allowed more yards (303 to 293), had more first downs (16 to 14), threw for more yards (277 to 213), were penalized less (4 to 11) and had more time on the ball (35:37 to 24:23). The Blue Devils also gave up just one sack and no touchdowns in the second half. 

‘You can’t just take five field goals and expect to win a game in the NFL. You have to score touchdowns,’ Blue Devils guard Jon Runyan said.

The Giants have yet to score a touchdown in their last two home games this season, scoring on two field goals in Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings before scoring on five field goals in their last game. ( pgzen )
