Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, 27, insists he has no animosity toward the New York Giants and doesn’t feel he has anything to prove before facing his former team on Sunday, NFL Network reports. pgzen

Barkley spent the first six years of his career with the Giants, having entered the league as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 draft. He signed a three-year, $37.75 million deal with the Eagles this past offseason and will lead the Phillies back to their old home, MetLife Stadium, on Sunday. 

Asked what Sunday’s game means to him, Barkley is confident he has nothing to prove to his former team. “No, I know what I think about it. I don’t have to prove anything to them.”

‘I’m thankful for the opportunity this organization has (owner) Jeffrey (Lurie), (general manager) Howie (Roseman), everyone who brought me here. That’s who I have to prove to other people and my teammates, and at the end of the day, the most important thing is to win.’

‘Whether I get 300 yards or 10, as long as we win, I don’t have a lot of pride or ego until when I get on the field and I play ball, I have to look at those guys with the eyes like, ‘Look what you gave away.’ ( pgzen )
