Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson heaped praise on Mac Jones after the 25-year-old quarterback’s impressive performance in preseason play, NFL Network reported.

The former No. 15 overall pick in the 2021 draft had a poor season with the New England Patriots before the Patriots traded the 25-year-old quarterback to Jacksonville this offseason to back up Trevor Lawrence. Jones has returned to form and has earned praise from the Leopards’ head coach.

“Mac has played incredibly well the last couple weeks and really believes in what we’re doing,” Pederson said of the 25-year-old quarterback after the 31-0 win over the Atlanta Falcons. “He’s going to keep coming back to the Patriots, and we have to remind him he’s in Jacksonville.”

‘But he did a good job. He did a good job of organizing and controlling the offense, getting everyone involved. He saw the field well, threw the ball well, so he did a good job.’ 

Jones finished an impressive preseason as a Jaguar, throwing for 421 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions while completing 38 of 52 passes. He will start as Lawrence’s backup alongside C.J. Beathard in the 2024 season.  ( thaisiambet )
