However, Panathinaikos entered into negotiations with Marseille, with the loan discussions going smoothly, as did Ounai, who opened the door to a move to the Greek league.

The Greek giants confirmed on Wednesday that Ounai had signed on a season-long loan, with the club also stating that the deal is permanent after the end of the 2024/25 season.

The Moroccan international will wear the number 8 jersey for his new club and will travel to help the national team and return to the club once his mission is complete.
