Brock Purdy, 25, is happy to sign a five-year, $265 million contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers and is committed to leading the Golden State Warriors to future success, NFL Network reports.  mungmee168

“For me, what I know is it doesn’t happen overnight,” Purdy said. “You have to go through good times, bad times, tough times, tough workouts, everything to get there and how you respond to adversity and all that stuff. I’m just thankful to keep going and this is my story. I’ve never tried to live up to anybody else’s story. It’s just a phase that God gave me and I gave it my all. I’m just so thankful to be in this position.”

‘What makes me more excited than anything is to get better and help this organization succeed. There’s no set plan for what our team will be this year or the future. I just have to come in and work every day to succeed and do my part for this team. I’m so excited.’ 

Purdy signed a five-year, $265 million deal, with $181 million guaranteed and a $100 million signing bonus, after previously averaging less than $1 million per year. 

“I think where we ended up is where we should have been,” Purdy said of the 49ers’ contract talks. “I’m very happy with where we ended up, and I know the 49ers are as well. When it comes down to it, for me it’s all about football right now. Whether they’re using salary cap space or whatever, that’s not my job. My job is to win games and lead this team.” 

Now, Purdy is focused on preparing for the 2025 season, saying, “I feel like every year people say, ‘You want it to be done soon,’ but it ends up being pretty slow.”

‘Whether that’s going to affect the locker room or not, I’m not really sure. I don’t want to point to something, but this year, to have these guys do a good job and be able to come back and work and be around the guys in the locker room and rebuild our culture and our standards with all the new guys that we’ve got, it’s been really cool.
