mungmee168 The NFL has increased the salary cap for the 2018 season to $177.2 million from $167 million last year, citing higher average revenues.

This is the fifth consecutive year that the salary cap has increased by at least $10 million. The cap increase is the smallest since 2013, when the cap was increased by 1.99%.  mungmee168 

However, since 2013, the salary cap has increased by $54 million over the next five years, or 44.1%. 

The 2018 free agent period will begin on March 14, according to the new season calendar, with teams that exceeded their salary caps from last year having to clear it. 

That includes the Philadelphia Eagles ($11.21 billion), the Miami Dolphins ($8.874 billion) and the Kansas City Chiefs ($3.285 billion). 

The team with the most remaining salary cap space is the Cleveland Browns, at $108 million. ( mungmee168 )
