    A recent Milan city council meeting appears to be trying to convince the two big clubs to stay at San Siro and plan to build a new stadium on the same site.

    Speaking to Calciomercato about the plans for the new stadium, Marotta said: “It’s a serious and sensitive matter. Football is a collective phenomenon that came after religion.”

    “The Italian bureaucracy is the main problem that delays any project. It happened many times, even when I was at Venezia with Samaprini in 1997, he bought the stadium and it is still there 30 years later.”
