Real Madrid confirmed on Monday that Daniel Ceballos will be out for between six and eight weeks after the 28-year-old midfielder suffered an ankle injury in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Real Betis, according to Diario AS.  ( superwin636 )

Carlo Ancelotti surprised Ceballos by starting ahead of either Arda Güler or Brahim Diaz, but the 28-year-old midfielder was withdrawn in the 65th minute after a collision with Betico right-back Yussuf Sabali, which resulted in a right ankle injury. 

Real Madrid have confirmed via the club’s medical report that the severity of the injury is a grade 3 right ankle sprain, which will require 6-8 weeks of recovery time.

‘Following the tests carried out on our player Dani Ceballos today by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with a grade 3 ligament injury to his right ankle, which is still awaiting further diagnostic results,’ the club said in a statement.

Ceballos’ injury leaves Real Madrid with a further midfield option problem after losing Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga to injuries.
