Real Sociedad see Lenglet as a suitable replacement for Robin Le Normand after the Spain Euro 2024 winning centre-back joined Atletico Madrid for €30m plus €5m in bonuses, but the 29-year-old’s signing is a major stumbling block.

Lenglet is on a season-long loan at Barcelona worth €6m, having been loaned out to Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa over the past two seasons, with the Blaugrana keen to offload the 29-year-old again this summer to ease their spending spree. 

Real Sociedad are reportedly interested in signing Lenglet, but they will have to convince the player to accept a lower salary than he is currently earning. It has not been revealed whether the Basque side want to sign him permanently or only on loan.
