Simons agreed a season-long loan move back to RB Leipzig last week and underwent a medical on Sunday before signing for the club, having made 43 appearances in all competitions and scored 10 goals in the 2023-24 campaign.

Simons had previously attracted interest from Bayern Munich and other Premier League clubs, but the 21-year-old winger is keen to return to his old club.

Meanwhile, Simons’ club Paris Saint-Germain are only willing to let him go on loan and will not allow an option to buy, as they see the Netherlands international as the club’s future and has a contract until 2027.
