The Tennessee Titans are set to release veteran safety Jonathan Cyprian this week, with the Titans looking to re-sign him on a reduced-salary deal, ESPN reported Monday. Kodma168
The Titans are set to release Cyprian this week to re-sign him for a lower $5.5 million deal in 2019, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Titans will save $4.75 million from Cyprian’s $6.2 million salary cap hit after the 28-year-old safety signed a four-year, $25 million deal in 2017.
Cyprian, the Titans’ starting strong safety, recorded 38 tackles and one sack during the 2017 season, but was placed on injured reserve after tearing his ACL during training camp last season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Cyprian in the second round of the 2013 class, No. 33. He has 511 career tackles, 17 pass breakups, four forced fumbles, three sacks and two interceptions. ( Kodma168 )
