Jameis Winston, 31, believes the New York Giants have given him the best chance after signing a two-year, $8 million deal with the Giants this offseason, NFL Network reports. kindee1688

“This team is looking for a complete paradigm shift,” Winston said. “This team is looking to create some excitement and there’s no better place to do it than here in New York City, the New York Football Giants.” 

The Giants signed Winston to a two-year, $8 million deal before the Blues signed Russell Wilson, another experienced quarterback, to a one-year, $10.5 million deal, and the 36-year-old is expected to be the Blues’ starting quarterback in 2025. 

“My initial vision this offseason was to find an opportunity where I could be a starter or a bridge player to the starting quarterback, and I believe this situation is similar.”

‘Whether it’s an experienced quarterback that I have to compete with and help and help this team get better or a college quarterback that I have to help get better, I have to compete and help.’

The Giants have the No. 3 pick and technically could select a quarterback, but the starting lineup will go to either Wilson or Winston. 

‘I don’t believe in coincidences and the focus that brought me to New York was the fact that there was a quarterback room that they needed to get better and make a difference and I saw a window of opportunity open up. But just the fact that the Big Apple is the biggest city in the world with the biggest fans in the world also created a buzz. That didn’t hurt. I’m definitely grateful for what this city has brought, but I’m focused on what I can do to help elevate this team from the quarterback position. ‘

Winston also spoke about his relationship with Wilson, saying, “My relationship with Russ is a good one. A lot of people don’t know that. He’s one of the quarterbacks that allows me to watch how he goes about his business, how he takes care of his body, how he trains and what he does to get into his mental game.”  ( kindee1688 )
