According to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport, 34-year-old safety Weddle is one of the biggest names to hit the free agency market on March 13 after the Ravens decided to release him from the team on Wednesday.
Weddle is in the final year of his contract and is due $6.5 million with a $1 million bonus in incentives, so releasing the 34-year-old safety would save the Ravens $7.5 million in cap space.
The veteran safety started all 48 games during his three-year spell with the Ravens, recording 220 tackles, three sacks and 20 interceptions, while making three straight Pro Bowls and earning two All-Pro and six Pro Bowl honors throughout his career.
