Khalil Mack, the 34-year-old pass rusher, has confirmed that his decision to re-sign with the LA Chargers was due to his desire to win football games, not money, ESPN reports.

Mack had considered retiring after the 2024 season before the veteran pass rusher made a no-brainer decision to return to LA, saying: ‘Why not come here?’
Mack signed a one-year, $18 million deal to stay with the Chargers, and the 34-year-old insists the decision wasn’t about money, but because he wanted to be a part of what head coach Jim Harbaugh has started building starting in the 2024 season.
“I have to be fair in how I handle things and not just about the money and stuff. I try to make it more about winning games,” Mack said.
Although Mack had just six sacks, the fewest of his career since four in his rookie season in 2014, he still made the Pro Bowl for the third consecutive year and the ninth time in his career.
‘I just didn’t want to give up on the goals and ambitions that I had since I stepped into the league. I knew I wanted to play in the big games and win the Super Bowl.’
