Former wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is optimistic about Marvin Harrison Jr., believing the Arizona Cardinals’ rising wide receiver will continue to get better despite the former No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 draft class performing below expectations during his rookie season, Theo McGee of the Arizona Republic told Theo McGee. “I see a guy who makes a lot of plays,” Fitzgerald said. “He’s very good. When the ball comes to him, he makes good plays. He’s going to get better, so I’m excited to see him play in his second year.”
Harrison had some good catches as a rookie, finishing the season with 62 catches for 885 yards and eight touchdowns, but fell short of expectations as the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 draft and was overshadowed by the New York Giants’ Malik Neighbors (No. 6) and Jacksonville Jaguars’ Brian Thomas Jr. (No. 23), who caught for 1,204 and 1,282 yards, respectively.
For Fitzgerald, he is second on the Cardinals’ franchise list in both receptions (1,432) and yards (17,492). He is sixth in touchdowns (121).
The former No. 3 overall draft pick in the 2004 draft had 58 catches for 780 yards and eight touchdowns on 115 targets, close to Harrison’s 116. Fitzgerald recognizes Harrison’s potential and believes he is a future Hall of Famer.
‘I told him if he needed anything, I would be happy to help him,’ Fitzgerald said. ‘But luckily he had a much better dad than me, so he could use him whenever he wanted.’
