Jason Kelce, 36-year-old center for the Philadelphia Eagles, has revealed that he has not yet officially retired from 13 years in the NFL. Although it was leaked to the media that he informed his teammates of his decision to end his career following a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which eliminated them from the wild card playoffs. ‘You know, (head coach) Nick (Sirianni) gave me a chance to talk. I have not announced what I intend to do. Even though I’m guessing it’s leaked to the media,’ Kelsey said, ‘I don’t think you’d be in a position after the game like that to really make that decision. I just can’t do it. There’s too much emotion at the moment to fully understand that decision.’ 

When he officially decided to retire It would end a Hall of Fame-worthy career that saw him make seven Pro Bowls, six All-Pro and win one Super Bowl with the Eagles. 

‘When the time comes to officially announce what will happen in the future. It will be in a clear and respectful way to the many people and individuals who have meant so much to me and have led to the career I’ve had,’ Kelsey said. It’s even respectful to be able to do that after a game like that. But I talked to the team. And pretty much say the same thing I said to you, which is, ‘I believe in each and every one of you. Appreciate the time you had in this league.”
