After much deliberation, the 39-year-old goalkeeper has decided to accept an offer from Portuguese new boys AVS.

AVS have just been promoted to the Portuguese top flight for the first time in the club’s history, having picked up four points from their first four games of the new season.

For Guillermo Ochoa, his playing career began with Club America in his native Mexico, followed by Ajaccio, Malaga, Granada, Standard Liege, Club America 2 and Salernitana, but fans remember him most fondly for playing in tournaments for the Mexicans, often performing well in both the World Cup and the Copa America.
