Baltimore Ravens quarterback Josh Johnson, 38, is feeling better after a strong performance in his last game, overcoming the disappointment of last week that had many wondering if he was the right fit to be Lamar Jackson’s backup, NFL Network reports.  ( zbet911 )

Johnson completed 11 passes for 120 yards, one touchdown, no interceptions and a 142.4 rating in Saturday’s 13-12 win over the Atlanta Falcons after a subpar performance in his first preseason game last week.

zbet911s “I was frustrated last week,” Johnson said. “I know I expect more from myself, I expect more from the team, but I also know there are things we need to grow as a unit, and I feel like we’re focused on that.”  zbet911s

Johnson completed just 4 of 12 passes last week, throwing for 62 yards, no touchdowns and a 51.4 rating against the Philadelphia Eagles. The performance led many to wonder if the 38-year-old quarterback was good enough to back up Jackson, but both head coach John Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Todd Monken have no doubts about his ability and experience.

“I thought he played really well,” Harbaugh said. “Josh played really well.”

Johnson’s career path is unlike any other. He has played for seven different NFL teams and has been signed to 14 franchises since entering the league as a fifth-round draft pick in the 2008 draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has made nine starts throughout his career, posted a 1-8 record, threw for 2,280 yards, 13 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.

Johnson started four times with the Buccaneers in 2009 and one time in 2011. He started three times with the Washington Football Team in 2018, started again with the Ravens in 2021 and was re-signed by the Ravens this offseason.

“It feels good to be on the field,” Johnson said. “This week we went back to work and just focused on the field. Timing, route details, quarterback movement, everything. All the little details that you have to have to be effective in the throwing game. But we brought the work from practice to the field, so I feel good about that.”
