Oklahoma City Thunder forward Chet Holmgren, 22, said he’s excited about adding Isaiah Hartenstein to a three-year deal this offseason, with the 26-year-old center expected to help address some of his defensive deficiencies when he’s not on the court, according to Paul George’s Podcast P.

Hartenstein’s arrival may not be a regular starter, but the 26-year-old center allows the Thunder to rest Holmgren without fear of repercussions, as Oklahoma City now has a big man on the court at all times and can also adapt to a double-big frontcourt when the time is right.

“I think Hartenstein has been great. I think it opens up a lot of different styles for him. Last year we had a very clear style of play and it worked. Now we have a lot more variety,” Holmgren said.

The 22-year-old forward also explained the Thunder’s philosophy of always changing the way they play and not being belittled by the success of the previous season. 

“Sam (Presti) says this all the time, ‘We were never married to one thing,'” Holmgren said. “I think this move is a move in the direction of pushing the limits of what we can do. Whether I’m in fourth or fifth place, I’m trying to win.”  ( sakidbet )
