Even though today we have gone our separate ways and will meet again this weekend (22 Sept), our personal admiration cannot be changed. 

“Miguel is a very intelligent person. He knows exactly what he wants and how to achieve it,” he told Sky Sport Deutschland.

“It became clearer when I met him, saw that this was the path he wanted to take, and it’s no surprise that he’s done well at Arsenal, building a team that plays top-level football.” 

“Pep’s influence is definitely huge because Mikel has worked with Guardiola for many years, that’s why the way of playing is very similar.”

“Arteta has done a really good job, he just signed a new contract a few days ago, so he will stay at Arsenal for another 2-3 years.”

The 33 -year-old midfielder has signed a contract to return to City for the 2024-25 season and it will be interesting to see whether he chooses to continue as a player or go straight into coaching.
