Flick led Barcelona to a superb start to the season, winning five games in a row, scoring 17 goals in total, after beating Girona 4-1 to avenge last season’s 2-4 defeat. 

“I’m proud of everything,” Flick said after the game. “Everyone in the team did well. If we press high, our defenders will be able to defend more easily, and our midfield will be able to play more easily as well.”

“We played systematically, were cohesive, tight, and blocked the other side’s paths in the upper half. Pressuring well is not something that is easy to do.”

“I liked our pressing. It was a very intense game from the first minute. We deserved the win and got the result we wanted. We are playing with the confidence we have built up since the first game.”
