thaisiambet Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has given an update on striker Gabriel Jesus’ groin injury, with scans now out and only a timeframe to be announced by the club. thaisiambet

Jesus suffered a groin injury in training in midweek and will miss the 2-0 win at Aston Villa, with Arteta keen to avoid jumping to conclusions and will liaise with the medical team to release a timeframe for the Brazilian’s treatment.  ( thaisiambet )

“Unfortunately he got injured on Thursday towards the end of training,” Arteta said. 

“He has a bad feeling in his groin. We need to assess him and do an MRI scan.” 

“The results will come out on Sunday or Monday at the latest (local), then we’ll talk about it again.” 

Arsenal will conclude their first fixture at home to Brighton (31 Aug ), one of four teams to start the new season on six points along with the Gunners , Liverpool and Man City , before  taking a break for international duty.
