cup1688 Marquez Valdes-Scantling is confident he will fit well into the Seattle Seahawks’ offense, having worked with Clint Kubiak last season with the New Orleans Saints.
Veteran wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling has revealed he is open to working with new Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Clint Kubiak, having worked together with the New Orleans Saints in the 2024 season, NFL Network reports. cup1688
Valdes-Scantling played in eight games under Kubiak last season, catching 17 passes for 385 yards, averaging 22.6 yards per catch and scoring four touchdowns before the 30-year-old wide receiver moved to Seattle following the 38-year-old coach who took over the Seahawks’ offensive line.
“I’m very excited,” the 30-year-old wide receiver said. “I (was in New Orleans) to play eight games and have a pretty good record in that time with two head coaches and three quarterbacks. I’m grateful for the opportunity. I’m very excited about what Clint has done and what he’s done on this offense.”
Valdes-Scantling also credited Kubiak for helping him sign a one-year, $5.5 million contract with the Seahawks this offseason.
‘I think it was all Clint. We were together in New Orleans, and when he came here, I thought it was a great fit. Obviously, they lost a lot of good wide receivers, so it opened the door for me to come in and step in.’
Valdes-Scantling is a speedy wide receiver, something the Seahawks need after trading Djibril Metcalf and releasing Tyler Lockett.
‘You shouldn’t try to emulate someone else. You can’t do that. You have to go out there and be the best version of yourself, and no matter what that looks like, you can’t really recreate what was once created. You just have to go out there and be the best version of yourself, and that should be enough.’ ( cup1688 )
