Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Zay Jones, 29, has been suspended for the first five games of the 2024 season due to an NFL personal conduct violation, NFL Network reports.

Jones was arrested on domestic assault charges in November and held overnight in the Duval County Jail before being released on bail the next day. The State’s Attorney’s Office later dismissed the misdemeanor charges, stating that it would not prosecute the defendant on those charges. 

Although Jones was not charged by law enforcement, the NFL deemed the incident a violation of its personal conduct policy, leading the league to ban the 29-year-old wide receiver for the first five games of the 2024 season without pay.

Jones entered the league as a second-round draft pick in the 2017 draft class. He played the first three years of his career with the Buffalo Bills, then three more with the Las Vegas Raiders. He then moved to the Jacksonville Jaguars for the last two years before signing a one-year deal with the Cardinals this offseason. 

The 29-year-old wide receiver will miss the first five games against the Bills, LA Rams, Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders and San Francisco 49ers before returning for Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 13.  ( superwin636 )
