Barcelona president Joan Laporta has hailed Hansi Flick for transforming the current Barcelona side, which have made a superb start to the season, winning their first four games, Mundo Deportivo reports on Tuesday.  ( wilson88 )

‘We are very happy with Hansi Flick, he has a winning mentality and we are very happy and proud of the team we have now,’ Laporta said. ‘We now see that La Masia is the core of our project.’

Laporta also spoke about the excellent start to the season and the expectations of Flick’s team, saying: ‘Barça will deliver positive results this year, as I have said before.’

Before talking about the current squad that has higher economic value, he said: ‘We have a squad that has a much higher market value than in 2021, the average age of the squad has decreased and the principle of always looking for a solution at La Masia first has been followed.’

Asked if Flick has the squad to compete for the title this season, Laporta replied: ‘We are laying the foundations to achieve our goals. He will not make excuses and will be happy with what he has.’

‘He is a very demanding person, he asks a lot of things from Deco, but we don’t have anything specific about winning titles, we will work to achieve that.’
