‘Diario Sport’ reported on Wednesday that Barcelona are keeping tabs on the development of 23-year-old Botafogo forward Luiz Henrique, despite the player previously failing to impress at Real Betis.

Luis Enrique joined Real Betis from Fluminense in the summer of 2022 for a fee of €12 million and, despite showing some quality when given the chance by manager Manuel Luis Pellegrini, the Brazilian has failed to maintain the consistency expected of him.

Real Betis have allowed Luiz Enrique to return to Brazil to join Botafogo since January. The 23-year-old forward has revived his career, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists in 51 games, including one goal and one assist, as the club won their first Copa Libertadores title after beating league rivals Atletico Minerva 3-1 despite being reduced to 10 men after the sixth minute following Gregory Silva’s red card.
