Carolina Panthers sophomore quarterback Bryce Young revealed he experienced something he hasn’t had since Christmas: taking a knee in victory after leading the Panthers to a 23-22 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, NFL Network reports.  123overr

Young completed 16-of-26 for 171 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and carried the ball four times for nine yards before leading the Panthers to their first win under his leadership since Week 15 of 2023. 

“Where would you rather be?” Young said when asked what was going through his mind before he took the victory knee. “That’s all you can ask for, you know? An opportunity to get a lead off a drive. That’s what we play for. That’s what we work for, especially as an offensive team. That’s all we can ask for. Everybody has that mindset.”

‘We all rely on each other, play for each other, and we can do it, but it’s just a great team effort.’

After being benched, Young got another chance to prove himself in Week 8 due to a thumb injury sustained in Andy Dalton’s car accident. While the former 2023 No. 1 draft pick’s comeback wasn’t great, he has improved significantly.

“I’m really happy for Bryce and I told him before we went out there to win, the effort to win, you’ve been a winner for a long time, so let’s win, let’s do it,” veteran guard Robert Hunt said. “And he said, yeah, I’ll be behind you and we’ll be behind you, and he did. I’m really happy for the kid.”

“He’s done a great job in some important moments and given us a couple of chances, so I’m proud of the steps he’s taken,” Panthers coach Dave Canales said. “He’s done everything we’ve asked him to do, got us in the right place at the right time. It’s a great step.” ( 123overr )
