123overr Devontae Adams will play with Aaron Rodgers again after the New York Jets completed a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Las Vegas Raiders have agreed to trade 31-year-old wide receiver Devontae Adams for a conditional third-round draft pick from the New York Jets after being linked for a long time, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports.  123overr

The Jets just fired head coach Robert Saleh about a week ago, but that didn’t stop Adams from arriving in New York, and it came shortly after a Monday Night loss to the Buffalo Bills when Gang Green sent a conditional 2025 third-round draft pick in a trade for the 31-year-old wide receiver from Las Vegas. 

The conditional third-round pick could become a second-round pick if Adams makes the first- or second-team All-Pro this season, or if he’s on Gang Green’s roster that makes the AFC Championship Game or Super Bowl. 

The Jets will cover the rest of Adams’ salary to get the deal done, with the 31-year-old wide receiver’s base salary being $16.89 million and a $510,000 player bonus, of which Gang Green will cover $11.6 million. 

The Jets and Adams then agreed to restructure his contract to reduce his salary cap for 2024, and both sides will likely have to adjust his contract for 2025 and 2026 as well.

The 31-year-old wide receiver also addressed his previous hamstring injury, saying: ‘Working with the staff in Las Vegas the whole time, they got me back in time. Luckily, I’m ready to go. I’m sure there’s some new things, but a lot of the same old rhetoric. Still the same right guard here, probably can pick up where we left off. That’s the idea. ‘ 

Adams played for the Packers from 2014 to 2021, catching 615 passes for 7,517 yards and 68 touchdowns. He caught 425 passes from Rodgers for 5,257 yards and 47 touchdowns. 

‘Tay is one of the best friends in the league,’ Rodgers said of Adams. ‘Tay is at the top of my list of people I care about and he’s like family to me. To have him back is very special for me. Last night was sad and happy but exciting. Tay and I have done a lot of good things over the years.’

‘He made me look good a few times. I’m excited. I think it’s exciting for the Rath team. We were definitely better today. Thanks to Joe (Douglas) for making it happen, Woody, Chris for pulling the trigger. Of course, everyone’s not happy about last night, but there’s still a lot left in the season. Now it’s time to go.’

“We know they’ve played together,” Jets owner Woody Johnson said after the Adams trade went through. “Yeah, I think everybody’s interested. He helps the offense. He opens everything up, especially the relationship with the quarterback. It’s very important.” ( 123overr )
