( 123over )Former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen believes Bruno Fernandes would be the perfect replacement for Luka Modric at Real Madrid. 123over

    The Portugal international has been in scintillating form since arriving at Old Trafford, scoring 95 goals and providing 82 assists in 278 games in all competitions and has been the club’s top performer since joining in January 2020, despite facing heavy criticism from pundits, particularly former player Roy Keane, at times.

    “I think sometimes people question the way Bruno Fernandes expresses his feelings, but one thing I’m sure of is that he’s a real winner,” Meulensteen said of the 30-year-old.

    “He plays every game, is never injured, is very dedicated to Manchester United and wants the best for the club.”

 While Meulensteen is confident Bruno will win major trophies with United, he believes the player will move to Real Madrid next season and would fit in well at the Bernabeu.

    “Every footballer has ambition. I’m sure he wants to win trophies with Manchester United, but if a team like Real Madrid comes knocking in the summer, he’d fit right in.”
