Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said he will be evaluating everything from top to bottom, including changing play-callers, after a 3-19 home loss to the New England Patriots, which was the Bears’ third straight loss, ESPN reported.

Six days after it was confirmed that offensive coordinator Shane Waldron would remain the play-caller following the Bears’ 29-9 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, Eberflus didn’t rule out a change in play-caller after the Bears showed clear issues against the Patriots on Sunday.

The Bears have failed to reach the end zone in two straight games and have failed to score a touchdown on 23 consecutive drives, an NFL record, with their last touchdown coming on a 1-yard carry by running back Roshon Johnson in a 15-18 Hail Mary loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 8.

‘We are considering everything,’ Eberflus said.

As Bears wide receiver Cole Kmet said, “We’ve been in a real depression for the last three weeks, and we’ve got to figure out a way out of it.”

The Bears entered Week 10 without four starters on the offensive line: left tackle Braxton Jones and right tackle Darnell Wright, as well as guards Nate Davis and Teven Jenkins. Caleb Williams had nine sacks in the game and was just 16-of-30 complete for 120 yards.

‘We are in the middle of the season and it is not my decision. I have to do what the coach says. I have to deal with whatever decision he makes and I have to be okay with it. Can I adapt? Yes, I will. We will adapt, no matter what the coach decides. Then we have to go out and execute and win. ‘

Late in the fourth quarter, Bears fans chanted for Eberflus to be fired, citing the Bears’ poor performance, which the 54-year-old head coach admitted was part of the game.

“I knew it was part of the job,” Eberflus said. “It’s part of the job. You have to stand strong. You have to be the leader you’ve always been and make the necessary adjustments that you have to make. Be strong and courageous at all times. Look each other in the eye. Tell each other the truth. And that’s how I knew I had to do that.” ( player1688 )
